For more than two decades, McLeish Orlando LLP has taken on fewer cases than most — and delivered more because of it. Based in Toronto, the firm focuses exclusively on personal injury law, representing individuals and families across Ontario in complex and catastrophic injury claims. That selective approach has earned recognition as one of Canadian Lawyer’s Top Personal Injury Boutiques 2026, and shaped a reputation built on the kind of focus that catastrophic injury claims demand.
McLeish Orlando combines legal strategy with close attention to the client experience, supported by long-standing relationships with healthcare and rehabilitation professionals. Those connections form part of a broader structure that integrates legal strategy with recovery planning across each file, ensuring that both immediate and longer-term needs are addressed.
The firm’s work includes motor vehicle accidents, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and other catastrophic injury cases requiring long-term care and rehabilitation support.
The firm is led by partners Dale Orlando, Patrick Brown, Salvatore Shaw, Joseph Cescon, Lindsay Charles, Nick Todorovic, and William Harding. Their leadership has established expectations around legal performance and professional conduct, supported by mentorship and a collaborative environment that reinforces consistency across the team. That structure promotes shared responsibility for outcomes while maintaining individual accountability across files.
“Compassion is evident in how we listen, advocate, and guide our clients through the legal process. Our approach combines technical legal proficiency with genuine care, making it clear that we are invested in the whole person, not just the case”

Nick Todorovic’s unique approach to personal injury law partly comes from completing a PhD in organic chemistry and spending years in a laboratory researching pharmaceutical drug candidates for various cancers and antibiotic resistances. His analytical skills enable him to think outside the box when advocating for victims and maximizing their awards.
The discipline Todorovic obtained from national-level competitive swimming allows him to achieve awards for victims at a much faster pace. He is no stranger to litigating high-profile cases involving boating deaths, municipal liability, ethanol lamp explosions, cycling crashes, and multi-trauma motor vehicle crashes.

Following the wrongful death of a family member, William Harding chose a career as a personal injury lawyer so that he could represent the interests of others going through similar experiences as his. After receiving an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Guelph, majoring in Criminal Justice and Public Policy, he earned his law degree from Queen’s University.
Called to the bar in 2018, Harding joined McLeish Orlando as an associate. While studying at Queen’s, he served as a volunteer caseworker at Queen’s Legal Aid, helping members of the local community with their legal problems. For his legal work, he was awarded the McDougal-Watson Memorial Award for “excellence in file management, hard work, and commitment to the achievement and development of the goals of Queen’s Legal Aid”.
Harding’s work with vulnerable members of the community through Legal Aid further supported his interest in personal injury law. He is passionate about helping people when they need it most, such as after suffering an injury or the death of a loved one.

That same rigour carries through to how files are managed. Cases are approached with a focus on detail, coordination, and forward planning, supported by systems that track progress and maintain accuracy across each stage. The firm has invested in advanced case management technology to support complex personal injury litigation, enabling real-time tracking, coordinated care planning, and improved communication across legal and rehabilitation teams.

Client relationships are central to that work. The firm places emphasis on communication, responsiveness, and continuity from intake through resolution, with a structure designed to ensure clients remain informed and supported throughout the process. That includes maintaining regular contact, explaining each stage of litigation, and providing access to professionals who can support recovery beyond the legal claim.
“We don’t just see cases; we see people,” Orlando says.
Much of the firm’s work comes from referrals by former clients, lawyers, and healthcare professionals, reflecting its reputation within Ontario’s personal injury and rehabilitation community. That referral flow reflects a practice built on consistency in both outcomes and client experience, reinforced by ongoing community involvement and engagement with peer and referral communities.
McLeish Orlando contributes to the development of personal injury law through published work, speaking engagements, and continuing legal education. It also maintains partnerships with rehabilitation centres and supports injury prevention initiatives, reflecting a broader commitment to both the profession and the communities it serves.
Two decades of selective practice have produced something difficult to manufacture. A Toronto personal injury law firm known as much for how it treats people as for the results it achieves. That reputation continues to define how McLeish Orlando approaches every file.
