Janus Siebrits
Partner
Janus Siebrits has been exclusively engaged in personal injury and insurance litigation with a focus on long-term disability claims and motor vehicle accident litigation. He has appeared regularly before Federal Canada Pension Plan Disability Tribunals, the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia, and the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal.
Siebrits believes that the profit motive of insurance companies all too often comes in conflict with the everyday insured person on the street who is simply trying to get what they had been promised: “Insurance companies are businesses – they don’t make money by paying out money to their insureds. They will often look for any reason to refuse or delay a payout.” Unfortunately, the only realistic recourse that these everyday insured persons have is to seek the help of a firm like MacGillivray Law to obtain what they are entitled to – nothing more, nothing less.
When he’s not fighting for his clients, he can be found spending time with his family.

The firm also advances complex medical malpractice matters at the highest level. In Hemmings et al v Peng, Neinstein lawyers appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada, a rare development in this area of practice and one that reflects the complexity of the issues involved.
Client work is structured with a focus on coordination and communication. Lawyers collaborate across teams and draw on relationships within the medical-legal community to support both legal strategy and client recovery. That structure is reinforced by a commitment to transparency and ongoing engagement throughout the life of a file.
“We remain agile and we find solutions, and we never give up,” Neinstein says.
Referrals from legal, medical, and client networks continue to support the firm’s growth, reflecting a reputation built on results and long-standing relationships across those communities.
