Thomson Rogers is a highly respected civil litigation firm serving clients throughout Ontario.
Since opening its doors in Toronto in 1935, Thomson Rogers’ lawyers have earned a reputation for taking on the most complex and challenging litigation matters and delivering results.
The firm maintains a robust litigation practice across multiple practice areas, including a full range of plaintiff personal injury claims such as disputes related to catastrophic accidents, medical malpractice, product liability, and class actions. In addition, its LTD lawyers were recently featured in the media after they won a significant case against a client’s insurer.
Thomson Rogers’ personal injury litigators are well known for helping clients who have suffered catastrophic injuries due to the negligence of others. This helps to level the playing field against well-funded insurance companies and other defendants.
In a recent high-profile case, a client was awarded a record-high $1.5 million in punitive damages in their lawsuit against their long-term disability benefits insurer. A Toronto jury decided the dispute in the client’s favour after a five-week trial. It awarded full payment of benefits from the date of denial to trial and the largest standing “punitive” and “aggravated” damages amounts awarded by a jury against a long-term disability insurance company.
After arguing a lengthy and complicated trial, the firm’s medical malpractice lawyers were also ultimately successful in obtaining a judgment in favour of the client, who was left with catastrophic brain damage following a medical procedure.
“We continue to see cyber as a key opportunity and will be further developing customer-centric solutions across various geographies and segments in line with our growth aspirations”
