In 2021 and 2023, David Zarek was recognized as Lawyer of the Year in Insurance Law in Toronto on the Best Lawyers in Canada list. A founding partner of ZTGH, he practices in the areas of third-party tort motor vehicle claims, health law and class actions, special investigation claims, product liability, and commercial liability claims, along with regularly providing coverage opinions. Zarek has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada and regularly appears in the Court of Appeal and the Ontario Superior Court.

Grossman is recognized by Lexpert as a leading practitioner in personal injury law and has attained an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, peer rated for the highest level of professional excellence. Grossman was awarded the CDL 2019 Lee Samis award for distinguished service. He argued and won a landmark decision, Chubb v. Zurich, at the Supreme Court of Canada.

Jennifer Griffiths

Partner

Jennifer Griffiths practises predominantly in the area of first-party accident benefits with an emphasis on catastrophic claims. She also assists insurers with priority disputes, loss transfer claims, and cases involving interface between the auto insurance scheme (both tort and accident benefits) and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act. Griffiths has been selected by her peers for inclusion in the Best Lawyers in Canada list for insurance law. She co-chairs the firm’s practice groups in Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), Catastrophic Loss, and Examinations Under Oath.

Her practice includes commercial general liability/occupier’s liability/municipal liability work for both for plaintiffs and institutional clients. Andrew C. McKague has a diverse practice that focuses largely on estate litigation as well as defence of first-party auto and tort claims. He also acts for select plaintiffs involved in serious car accidents. In addition, his practice includes employment law and general civil litigation. In addition, Andrew’s practice includes employment law and general civil litigation. He has numerous reported decisions and has argued cases at all levels of court in Ontario including the Ontario Court of Appeal. Shanti E. Barclay represents long-term care facilities and health care professionals, including personal support workers, nurses, optometrists, and dentists. She has experience defending professional negligence claims, including chartered accountants and engineers. Barclay has worked on a number of class actions in areas ranging from pollution, privacy breach, explosions, as well as the use of restraints in mental health hospital wards and COVID-19 transmissions. Jonathan B. Schrieder has a special interest in jury trials and estate litigation matters and is co-chair of the Estate Litigation practice group. He also works with insurance companies on complex and catastrophic claims and has extensive experience in extinguishing fraudulent and questionable claims. Schrieder has taken more than 140 trials, arbitrations, appeals, and other proceedings to verdict or decision. He has been selected by his peers for inclusion in the Best Lawyers of Canada list in the area of insurance law. Schrieder handles select estate and guardianship matters pro bono in aid of orphaned children and their surviving family members.
