Frank Addario is an experienced trial and appellate lawyer who regularly appears in the trial courts and on appeals before the Ontario Court of Appeal. He has one of the leading Supreme Court of Canada practices in the country, having appeared in that Court over 40 times as counsel.
Addario is an advisor with the Supreme Court Advocacy Institute. In 2016, he received the G. Arthur Martin Criminal Justice Medal for his life-long commitment to criminal justice. He is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, the premier organization of trial lawyers in North America. He is ranked by Chambers Canada for white-collar crime and government investigations and as a top criminal law practitioner nationwide.
Who’s Who Legal recommends Addario as a Global Leader in business crime defence and investigations. He was a director and vice president of the Canadian Civil Liberties Association from 2004 to 2021 and is a past president of the Criminal Lawyers’ Association.

Frank Addario
William Thompson is a partner at ALG with a broad trial practice. He appears regularly at all levels of court in Ontario and defends people charged with a wide range of criminal offences, including murder, sexual assault, impaired driving, and other motor vehicle offences. He frequently acts for individuals caught up in complex litigation, where his skill at simplifying is best deployed. Thompson speaks regularly on criminal law issues at conferences and in the media. He is active in the legal community as the past chair of the Ontario Bar Association’s Criminal Justice Section, as well as a member at large for the Canadian Bar Association’s Criminal Justice Section.
Thompson is also a member of the Criminal Lawyers’ Association and The Advocates’ Society. He has a JD from the University of Toronto, where he also obtained a Master of Arts in political science with a focus on international relations.

Lynda Morgan is a partner at ALG. She has a criminal and regulatory law practice with expertise in search and seizure issues. Before joining ALG, she worked for nine years at a top criminal and regulatory boutique firm in Toronto. Morgan also gained experience on the other side of the courtroom as an assistant Crown attorney for the Guns & Gangs Unit. She acts as duty counsel for the Law Society of Ontario and the Pro Bono Inmate Appeal Program.
Morgan earned her law degree from the University of Ottawa, where she graduated at the top of her class and earned awards, including prizes for highest standing in criminal law and procedure. She is a member of the Criminal Lawyers’ Association. She is a regular speaker at search and seizure conferences and co-chair of the annual Osgoode Tech Crime Conference. Morgan is also counsel to the Canadian federal government’s Foreign Interference Commission.

Samara Secter

Samara Secter is a partner at ALG. Her practice includes constitutional, commercial, and criminal litigation. She defends individuals and organizations in quasi-criminal regulatory proceedings and at trial. She is regularly engaged to solve urgent, complex disputes and manage crises. Sector also acts for professionals, including lawyers, in discipline proceedings. She clerked for Justice Louis LeBel at the Supreme Court of Canada.
Before joining ALG in 2016, Secter was an associate at one of Toronto’s top commercial litigation boutiques. She earned her law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, where she graduated with the Silver Medal. Secter has a BA in History from the University of British Columbia, where she was the valedictorian. She is a director of Parkdale Community Legal Services in Toronto.

Andrew Max is a partner at ALG. His civil litigation practice includes complex commercial disputes, fraud, shareholder disputes, oppression remedies, director and officer liability, arbitration proceedings, injunctions, judicial review, and professional liability. Before joining ALG Andrew practiced at one of Toronto’s top commercial litigation boutiques.
Max has significant courtroom experience and has conducted dozens of trials as a criminal prosecutor. He has expertise in matters involving allegations of fraud, white-collar and corporate crime, and sexual misconduct. Clients, including the general counsel of large institutions, rely on him to handle their most sensitive crises. In 2023, Benchmark Litigation named Max as a Future Star and included him in its “40 & Under List”. He was awarded Prosecutor of the Year by the International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators. Max teaches trial advocacy at Osgoode’s Intensive Trial Advocacy Workshop. He was elected to the Ontario Bar Association’s Civil Litigation executive and was a past member of The Advocates’ Society Commercial Litigation Practice Group. He clerked for the judges of the Ontario Superior Court, focusing on the Commercial List and class actions. He earned his law degree and an MA in philosophy from the University of Toronto.

Kylie Quinlivan is general counsel and company secretary of hipages Group and a member of the executive team. This is her second role as general counsel of an ASX-listed company. Quinlivan is a top-tier trained corporate lawyer with over 17 years of experience in public and private M&A/transactional work, fundraising, and corporate governance. She is commercially oriented, curious, and with a demonstrated ability to understand complex matters quickly and communicate simply. Schlosser has more than 30 years of insurance industry experience, spanning roles in information technology, business solutions, marketing and sales. Prior to AXIS, he served as chief information officer for Chubb’s Overseas General Insurance division, where he spearheaded a number of growth, innovation, digital and change initiatives. Before that, he served as CIO at The Travelers Companies international division. Schlosser was also a vice president for marketing technology and web communications at AIG.

Dan Draper was appointed group chief underwriting officer in September 2022. He had previously served for more than two years as group head of underwriting at AXIS. Prior to that, he had been group chief risk and actuarial officer at VIBE. Before joining VIBE, Draper spent eight years with AXIS, holding a number of leadership roles that included group chief actuary, chief risk analytics officer, and insurance segment chief risk officer. Before that, he held managerial positions at the Financial Services Authority, XL Capital, and EY.
