Elizabeth Bowker is a leading Canadian trial and appellate lawyer recognized for her work in complex class actions, public-interest litigation, and institutional defence. She has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada, the Courts of Appeal of Ontario and New Brunswick, Ontario’s Superior Court of Justice and Divisional Court, and numerous administrative tribunals.
Bowker represents clients in a broad range of matters, including class actions, professional liability, products liability, medical malpractice, municipal liability, employment practices, and insurance coverage. In recent years, she has led the defence of several high-profile class actions involving vulnerable populations and public institutions, contributing to the development of class action jurisprudence and the fair adjudication of complex public-interest disputes.
Beyond her litigation practice, she serves on Ontario’s Class Proceedings Committee as a jointly appointed member of the Law Foundation of Ontario and the Attorney General of Ontario. A frequent speaker and educator, she regularly presents on class actions and trauma-informed advocacy.
