Carole Dagher is general counsel, chief administration and sustainability officer at HomeEquity Bank.
Prior to joining HomeEquity Bank, she established herself as a trusted legal advisor across various industries, starting her career practicing in the capital markets group at Shearman & Sterling LLP, then spent 14 years in progressively senior legal roles in the banking industry and just under five years at Loblaws as head of retail legal, vice president.
Dagher’s expertise lies in aligning legal and administration strategies with organizational objectives to drive success, leading cross-functional legal and administration teams, and providing strategic legal and business counsel on key initiatives to foster growth.
Beyond her legal expertise, she also demonstrates a deep commitment to mental health advocacy, rooted in her lived experience with mental illness. She has channeled her mental health journey into an impactful mission to raise awareness and destigmatize mental health, including on behalf of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and the CAMH Foundation.
Dagher graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School and is dual-qualified in New York (2002) and Ontario (2006), and was honoured with the Law Society Medal by the Law Society of Ontario in May 2024. She is the co-editor of The Right Not to Remain Silent: The Truth About Mental Health in the Legal Profession.

A significant part of his focus today is staying ahead of regulatory change while maintaining a seamless client experience. He tracks updates from regulators and lenders closely and works with his teams to adjust systems as needed.
“My approach to my role and my career has always been rooted in passion, focus, and a relentless pursuit of excellence,” he says. “I’ve never been driven solely by profit or business metrics.
